Burning Candle Rescue
Dandy was our fire dog. Dandy feared fire and was vigilant whenever he smelled smoke. One night, I heard Dandy scratching, barking, and whining at our bedroom door. I got up to see what was upsetting him. I followed him, and he kept turning around, making sure I was following him. Finally, he stopped at the fireplace and looked up. There on the mantle was a candle that had burned down almost to the end and could have set the wooden mantle on fire. He saved us that night.
